my calls have also slowed down(3 or 4 daily vs. 25-30), the only one who hasn't let up at all is American General about the 6k that I owe them for furniture. It has been since October of 08 that I quit paying all of my 14 or 15 credit cards.
Just wondering what will happen next. I am a bit worried, since I own a car worth 12-15k, and a house full of furniture compliments of AGF.....

Albacore!!
Seems to be "Our" Lucky Week. I returned two calls from NCO as they were not for me or hubby. Gave reference # and made sure I repeated the Name of the person they were looking for & my phone #. I, then, asked the agent to repeat it back to me twice. I think 6 of our CCs are in the hands of NCO now.
Bank of the West called last week in regards to a voluntarily surrender of a Motorhome last November. Auctioned in Dec. Of course, a Deficiency occured. Her name was Linda (OMG!). I returned her phone call this morning. She said they had no record of our Attorney's name. I started laughing...and she wanted to know why. I explained the nasty phone call I received several weeks ago from NCO and she told me she was sorry I had to endure such a call.
O Man, I can't wait until 9/30/09 to get our BK filed! Yea, I'm sure hot Linda will be calling if you are waiting until next year to file.

Until....
About a month ago I decided I was going to drop Sprint and switch to Boost and save well over $50 a month. I am in bad shape for money and there is no way I can keep paying Sprint so I really wanted to move to a prepaid cell plan. I just can't deal with any late fees of any type anymore. I mean when you are just scraping by you can't always pay it by the due date. So you get whacked a $5-$10 late fee for a service that bills you a MONTH IN ADVANCE, OK this is one of my pet peeves, a late fee on a pay in advance service....please!!
Anyways, I said screw it and knew I would get hit with an ETF but I had (key word here was HAD) planned to pay it since in three months the savings were greater than what I had been paying. I was paying with tax around $114 a month to Sprint, and with Boost I now pay $46 for the same unlimited talk, text, internet.
Well before I even get my last statement from Sprint they are calling me about paying the $150. I was like hello, its not even due for three more weeks. So the calls started and the more they called me the less I was inclined to pay. Well in less than one month of being "past" due on the ETF fee they sent the account to collections. I was just floored, you got to be kidding me? I was going to pay them $50 a month over three months, but they refused to accept any "payments" and wanted the whole thing, my response; go pound sand.
So now I get a call 2-3 times a day from Receivables Management about paying this and threatened with how it will ruin my credit if I don't pay it (joke is on your people). Guess I forgot what it is like to be hounded like this again. Every time I tell them they are violating my state law they could careless, they refuse to send me a dunning letter, saying it up to Sprint (wrong!). I am not going to go as far as saying that in the last six months collections has changed much, but wow, I have never seen any company be so aggressive over $150 not to mention blatantly pulling FDCPA violations and when you call them on it, she tells me "so what, you won't do anything about it. Now pay your $150 like a real man would"
I just told her; real men don't pay ETF's to hick collectors so eat me....LOL
Oh please send me a dunning letter so I can C&D RM Collections over $150...oh and Sprint, nice job, I really was going to pay you, but now you can pound sand I won't ever even after being with you for 8 years ever use your service again (even though I know Sprint owns Boost...LOL, so who really is getting screwed? Oh wait my Boost phone is under a fictitious name so you don't know I am paying half for the same service...hahaha).Stopped Paying CC's 2/2009. Retained Attorney 1/10/2010 Filed 1/23/2010. Discharged 5/19/10 $187K CC, $240K 2nd,$417K 1st, No asset Ch-7

I told you not to mess with my woman.
Hey Luci,
You're dealing with NCO?
I just started getting calls from them not sure who represent.
Did they buy the debt or are they just collecting an account for somebody?
I haven't answered the phone yet most likely won't until I have a case number on July 1st or 2nd.
I can't wait the constant calling on my cell phone is driving me nuts.Filed July 7,2009

The two phone calls I returned from NCO on other individuals not related to myself or DH, I didn't write their names down.
Since posting I received another phone call from NCO. Her name was Angie. She asked for my husband. When I asked her the nature of the call she told me it was a personal business matter. I told her I was his wife. Duh, almost all are joint. She said she's collecting on a KeyBank account (an unsecured loan for windows in our home in IN in 2003) and was very nice. I proceeded to give her our Attorney's name & phone #. She wanted to know if we are filing bankruptcy..told her she would have to speak to our Attorney.
Get this....she told me to have a Nice Day! So, now, I get to eat Crow. As 1 out of 4 phone calls associated with NCO have been pleasant.

Sprint is desperate for money... they are trying to ditch Nextel as fast as they can... they blame the Nextel aquisition for their downfall..yea right! I worked for Nextel for 6 years till Sprint came swooping in.
We had employee phones (10-15 dollar a month plans) for ohh...lemme see... over 4 years after I stopped being an employee?
They just figured this out about a month or 2 ago and finally shut off my accounts. So, I think they are just getting more aggressive in general.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

Amy:
My nephew worked for Nextel, too. Same thing with him, too. They shut him and his wife's phone down in Feb. of this year.
