You should cover your tracks. Send a letter that simply states you dispute the "alleged" debt and are requesting verification. In another paragraph state they are to cease all telephone communications. Also make it clear that they can contact you via USPS mail.
I would send the letter return receipt, but others on the board have had success by regular US mail.
I dealt with GC a long time ago. I don't even remember who they were attempting to collect for. Once they got my CD request and C&D, I never heard from them again.
If you are trying for as much time as possible, send them some info.

I understand, but why would "you wait for judgment," when you might stall things for many months at very little cost? Are you waiting to file until a suit and judgment? If such is the case, then you could potentially expand you time to judgment by months (or even years.) Some on the collection forum here have kept many "wolves away" for 18 months and longer. Why invite the wolves to dinner?

Do you own a car?
Being unemployed does not save a home or car. You may rent, but if you get a judgement, the judgement will always show as a legal document. If you don't own a car, it might get harder in the future to get a car with a judgement.Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17
