For instance, NO anestheologists (wrong sp) are in networks. If you are in a network hospital referred by your networked dr., they have to pay these specialists as if they were in network. They pulled that on me with my epidural when I had my son. If I wouldn't have called the insurance company and disputed it, I would have coughed up $1,000 out of pocket. And when you call them and say, "um, I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to bite on a stick and take a swig of whiskey for my surgery and I don't pick my anestheologist." , they don't even bat an eye. They say, "we'll put the claim in again and it will be adjusted." Meaning they KNOW they're supposed to pay it. They just like the odds of you not knowing they're supposed to pay it.

Hey thanks for the information. I had that happen when I took DH to the ER in 2007 at an in-technork hospital & the insurance co. said the ER doctor wasn't in our network. Not only did I have to pay $100 for ER, BUT $215 to the ER doc whose offices were in Washington & this was St. Vincent's hospital in Little Rock, AR!

      Creditor Interchange!
They called my sister inlaw and pretended like they thought they were talking to my hubby about his debt. I guess they didn't realized my sil was a female and hub was a man. they told my sil the total amount we owe and how much our minimum payment was before they realized that they were not talking to the right person. I called CI and tore them a new one! How embarassing, sil is probably the last person on earth I would confide in about anything let alone how much money I owe.
