    served at previous address

Help....I got served the other day by a debt collector for Citi at a previous address. I haven't lived there for a couple of years but the guy just left it in the mailbox, I know because my friend of 20 years owns the house and lives there. I lived there for 7 months after my marriage ended.
I'm filing a BK but not within the 30 days I have been given to respond. Do I have to answer this as it was not delivered to me personally, I live in Los Angeles, the plaintiff's ( Hunt and Henriques) call themselves attorney's at law but they're a glorified collection agency
Thanks anyone who has any suggestions.

Ahhhh, Hunt and Henriques. I saw lots of filings by them when I reviewed the docket for the Riverside court. not sure of the law here in regards to service, but reviewing some cases on the docket, I did see poeple who filed that they were never served. They would also have to be using someone down here to represent them in court. spend a little time and review the LA court case history for filings by Citi. go throught the whole case, and review the minutes. It will give you an idea of how these guys work . When did you last pay Citi and how much do you owe ??

You can ask your friend if he would like to take the summons to the court, hopefully on the date you are suppose to respond by, and tell the court he found the summons in the mail box.
