Since discovering this forum, I have learned a lot about debt and my rights as well. Not afraid of the collection calls, even though I turned the ringer off. Its been advised not to get in a conversation with them since any info you provide can be used against you.
I will be postponing my BK for at least a year or so. I am judgment proof. No job, no health insurance and my condo is up side down. I will be letting my condo go and live rent free for a few months. I stopped paying my HOA as well.
Don't want to file until I am foreclosed and have health insurance.
Looks like my CC accounts have been charged off. I have been getting letters from the CA's, but toss them in a collection box to store. No worry about my only $7500 Cash Advance in 2005 with citi to worry about.
I closed my Wells Fargo checking and opened up a free Schwab One account with checking. I did this because my mortgage is with Wells Fargo. I happened to be at my Salon and my long time hair stylist told me that she had her Wells Fargo Checking raided by Wells Fargo Mortgage with out her permission. She purchased a house with her ex BF and they broke up eventually. She moved to a rental and her ex tried to do a short sale but failed. Its in foreclosure, but they raided her bank account in $200 and $400 increments. She tried to close, but could not do because of the negative balance. Her negative balance is at least $5000 and are threatening to take legal action against her. Since she works for herself and rents her chair at a salon, they can't garnish. She has since opened a new checking account elsewhere.
With my Schwab One account, I have a separate checking and a cash brokerage account that are linked together. I am thinking of signing up for Wal-Marts money visa card and Pay Pal debit Master Card linked to my account to spread my cash to safe guard from account garnishment.
Anyone in similar situation that has done so?
