    Chrysler is getting NASTY!

I got a phone call from a local number. So, I answered. A very nice voice was on the other end. The she identified herself as Chrysler Financial. I was caught off guard and kinda fumbled. They are really getting tricky, since all of the numbers that call me are out of the area or 800 numbers. I mentioned how they lied to me about doing an "in-house" refi and how I was displeased there collection practices.....she said "Well, it's not OUR fault you have bad credit"! I was floored so I basically told her to flip off (of course I said something else) and told her to come get the F'in car!

The same number called back about 30 minutes later and left a voicemail of just music playing. So, now that I have recieved a notice to repossess(in the mail) should I plan on them coming to get the car soon?

Also, is there a pattern to look for? If the calls stop, have they sent out the Repo Man? I've had 4 calls from them today, but none in a few days....what should I be looking for? If I tell them I'm filing BK will they be less likely or more likely to come get the vehicle?

Was it Shalonda ?? you should have just told her to give you the car since they don't need it as they will be out of business in a couple of months anyway.

That's funny you ask......I don't know her first name as they always say Ms. Holland or Ms. Jones....but everytime I have been called it is someone of African American . Im not saying that in any derogetory way, only what is fact in my situation.

Do you really think they will go under? Chrysler I mean?

well the talk is GM and Chrysler are headed for BK. Gm is strong enough to survive, chrysler isn't

Not some day when you go into the store and come out with a cart of melting frozen foods to find you have no car. And no the calls will not stop, matter of fact a great trick is to get you on the phone while they hook the car.
Funny you say that. My friend told me that one time the dealership called her and said they were gonna re-write her loan. She packed the kids up and headed down there. As she was inside, Mr. Repoman was hookin' up her car. One of the salesmen was nice enough to drive she and her kids home...LOL how funny is that? Yes, well I do park in my garage. Also, like I said before they can't get into my work as security won't let them in. Im working out the details as we speak, to get another vehicle. Oh, Bigboy...how late can collectors call me here in AZ? Also, what's with this same number calling me and leaving long "empty" messages? Are they just trying to piss me off? And howis it that I can get calls from two or more people in one day from chrysler, all from different area codes?

we were getting calls about daily, at least 3x a week for Toyota Financial about our car. We hadn't paid on it since Jan. We received a few letters in the mail; the last one was early march saying that if we didn't cure the default they were going to use the recourse available under the credit agreement (or something along those lines).

They gave us a deadline of 3/20 to cure it. The last call i got from them was 4/1. On 4/10 they came and picked up the car. Luckily, the repo woman was nice and let my husband take a couple of things out of it. I thought we had more time; but obviously sometimes places will repo faster.

I would get yourself another car ASAP, unless you plan to file in the next week or so.. Even then, the creditor can get relief from the automatic stay to do the repo...

They called again this morning. I told them I was filing in the next few weeks. She was very nice. Although I told her I know they have to do what they have to do.

Im getting another vehicle next weekend. If they do come to my door, what are my legal rights? The vehicle will be in my garage.....

Also, how long does it take from the time I meet with my lawyer to retain, and then file? Can that take a few weeks?

just don't answer the door. My husband had a chargeoff for a ford truck years ago- it had been like 4 years since any payments, he didn't have the truck anymore; but suddenly there was a repo guy coming to our house. He was not a nice guy, banging on the door, ringing the door bell many times etc. We never answered though, and he finally just gave up.

But in your situation, i would just not answer the door- keep the car garaged. Once you are able to file, there is an automatic stay of 60 days- meaning they can't come take the car unless they get relief from stay.

Some attorneys can file "emergency" in a few days, but most like about a month to prepare the paperwork.

We just had one car repoed yesterday; we had been late 3 times and thought we had more time... luckily the woman was nice and let my husband get our stuff from the car. We had bought a different car back in Jan that we will reaffirm when we file...

                  goodl uck

When my HD was repo'd, they came by several times, looking for it. Of course it was in the garage, but they didn't know that, as there's no windows. They came several times a week, day and night. I would come home from work and see the truck out front, I'd roll on by. Finally they called one day and said something about getting the sheriff involved and I figured it was time to let it go. Not sure if that was a real threat, or just a scare to let them have it.

Our lawyer filed within a few hours of our appointment. It can be done.

I still get calls everyday now. But the last call I got was a man that stated "it's urgent you return our call by 8pm tonight, we are making a decision about this unit and would like you to be a part of that" does this mean they are just getting closer to sending out the repoman. Also, if we file BK soon, will this stop them from coming to get the vehicle until we know what we are doing?

I so love it when the put those deadlines. I'd have to call them back and demand to know what happens at 8:01?!? Does the car turn into a pumpkin? The dress fall off?? Oh please tell me I must know what happens at 8:01!!! By this time they usually call me an ***hole and hang up.

Lol, yeah I get this same phone call everyday. It's usually the men that call and say, "it's urgent you return my call by such and such time TONIGHT!" When will they figure out that I won't be calling by that time, nor any other time in this lifetime! Honesty, it is getting a little stressful as I rely on this vehicle for transportation. But, Im only insured through the end of this month and my registration is only good until May 15th. Im working hard on getting another vehicle as we speak! I'm meeting with my attorney on Thursday and see what he recommends I do with my car situation. My anxiety has been a little heightened lately!
