Why do creditor put inquiries on credit reports

every week? FIA puts a new credit inquiry on my credit report (mainly Experian) every couple of days.

    Why?

It sounds like they are very interested in you. I haven't seen this before. (except from people doing it to themselves to bump off "real" inquiries.)
filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!

Don't worry about it, these are soft inquiries and have no effect on your credit.

However, it is rare to see weekly frequency, but monthly frequency is common.

Have you told them that you are declaring bankruptcy? That might spark their interest. But every few days seems quite excessive.

The agency I worked for (years ago) did one to search for assets (Available credit on other accounts) to see if you could pay our debt.

            Interesting.

The new inquiries were Experian on 2/27/09, 3/6/09, then TransUnion on 3/7/09, Experian again on 3/13/09, 3/20/09, and 3/25/09.
