Pay a CA, get a prize! Woo Hoo!

    Collections agencies are nuts!

Today in the mail I received a dunning letter from RJM aquisitions for a debt that was scheduled in my BK 7. A small debt, BTW, around 300.00.

So get this, they send this "prize/gift sheet" stating that if I pay them I get to select something from their "Gift Reward Sheet".

They have catagories (12) where the prizes increase in value the greater your debt is, rangng from a crock pot to a 42 inch plasma TV ( there is even a trip for 2 with air fare!

    WTHell!

Plus they were nice enough to inform me that they have reported this debt to 2 credit bureaus!

Needless to say they are getting a very threatening letter in the mail next week telling them what they can do with their freakin prizes and their illegal collection activities while I am in BK on a scheduled debt!

Crazy nut jobs, I am gonna go crazy nut job on them!

If they reported the debt after you filed, then they are still trying to collect a debt.

dingdong, now the fun begins! Really, I love the power of the discharge injunction (let alone the automatic stay), and being able to tell creditors to go fly a kite!

(BTW, did you get your discharge?)

        Nope, No discharge yet.

I broke down and checked PACER last night.

I checked all the case numbers around my filing date and none of them have been discharged yet except for one.

My district was pretty busy, I might call Tuesday and see if that will speed things up. Maybe Monday they will issue a few discharge(s).

CA crack me up, I love how they send you a dunning letter and then have their little caveat in fine print on the back saying if you are in BK, then this communiction is for informational purposes only and is not an attempt to collect a debt personally.

        Yeah right!

They ask you to send them some money and then say it is merely some anecdotal informational piece!

I have a pile of dog crap ready to mail off to them, which may or may not be payment for the debt, or merely informational
