Shopping at a store where you owe on the store's credit card

I am in collections on my credit cards but have not been sued yet.

Since I used to pay all my bills with automatic withdrawal from my checking account, I recently switched banks to avoid anyone trying to do unauthorized withdrawals.

Anyway, one of the credit cards is with a store where I still shop sometimes.

If I use my new bank account debit card to buy something at that store, is there a chance that the store's collections dept. would somehow get access to that info?

I've been paying cash at that store but one time I did forget and use my debit card.

Is this a non-issue or is it something I should be careful about? Thanks.

That is beyond paranoia, the easy answer is NO, they cannot do that, that would be just outright fraud on their part. You never gave them authorization to utilize your debit card to pay on an owed debt.

I try to use cash everywhere I go, but you're ok. It would be a fraudulent transaction if they tried to take $$ not authorized by you.

I shop at several stored that ended up being BK'd. I use a debit card or cash. Never any problems, and I wouldn't suspect any.

I shop at stores I have defaulted on; no problem.
