I included my overdraft account on my bk, and am currently about 3 weeks away from discharge. What I didn't realize is that the bank account itself and the overdraft account are two different things, and the bank is calling me every day about the overdrawn amount which did not automatically go over to the overdraft account. I am a no-asset chapter 7, so I know officially all debts are discharged at the end, but since they are calling me every day (recording only, whether I answer or not, and when I call back the number given, just another recording,) it seems they don't know about my bk. It will actually cost more to amend and have the court send them a notice than to pay the balance, but I know officially it will be discharged. What is the best way to handle this?

Sorry for being unclear. I want to get them to stop calling me and sending me mail. Actually, I spoke to them, and they have my bk court case number, so they know I filed. I just want to get them to stop their collection activities because I'm worried if they will continue to call, then they won't hesitate to report to credit reporting agencies, etc. I owe them less than $20, which is $6 than filing an amendment.

If I could pay it, I wouldn't be in bankruptcy. That's a week's worth of groceries for me. I've had surgery and have been disabled for the past 5 months and have a very fixed income now. If I know it's theoretically supposed to be discharged, I don't want to go a week without groceries to pay for it. That's the whole point of the bankruptcy, to be able to redirect income to pay for basic expenses. Well, this thread obviously isn't going anywhere. Never mind.

Back in the 90's I had a collection agency call me every morning - early - and the woman on the other end would start on me. She would say such stupid stuff as why don't you kill yourself, etc. One day I told her to stop to stop using the F word, stop telling me to commit suicide and to stop calling very early in the morning. Guess what, the next day she started in. I told her I told you not to do this and hung up. Shortly afterwards I showed up at her work place and demanded to speak to the head manager.
The calls stopped.
By the way, I was and still am disabled. The debt they were trying to collect, I later asked for the records and I audited the records. The debt was from a dentist who claimed I owed her money but after I audited the records, it turned out I over payed - she owed me.
When it comes to this people, the best thing is not to answer the phone.
If you do answer the phone,
tell them you are recording the call.
Tell them you filed bankruptcy.
Give them a case number.
Give them your lawyer's phone number.
Tell them you are disabled.
Tell them please not to call any more.Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17
