WTH - no calls today? What could that mean?

I'm around 30-60 days behind on almost all 7 of my credit cards. Usually the phone doesn't ring off the hook but it's pretty regular. Well, today I've received NO creditor calls! I'm absolutely sure I am not behind more than around 51 days on the most deliquent ones. What the **** could this mean?? Maybe they are busy chasing everyone else today?

In light of the economic situation, creditors are probably dealing with levels of defaults that they havent seen in decades. There are only so many people that they can call on a daily basis. The will eventually get back around to you and call you again. I highly doubt that they all of the sudden want to sue you, so don't sweat it. If you are really concerned, then try looking up your last name on the local small claims and civil court online. Just google, your county name, plus the words, small claims court civil. You should be able to look up case history.

Some days my phone rings off the hook, other days I get just a few calls.

Yeah, same situation with me...we are not overly late on most of our cards..maybe getting to the 60 day mark on some and for some reason yesterday and today....barely any calls at all. The other day Chase would call repeatedly (like every 2 minutes...3 or 4 times), like on the hour. Citibank too. Then the last two days, nothing....maybe 1 call from each all day. Weird. I am thinking they are turning our accts over to collectors, but I think it might be too soon. I don't know.

Perhaps they are laying off all the internal collectors! Ha ha. Or maybe they are trying to come up with "plan b" as to how they should go about collecting on past due accts.

I know the first month we were late, we got letters from Chase stating that if we were on time and got our balance below our credit limit that they would waive overlimit fees and reduce our interest rate to 19% from 29.9 (which it was around 8 before we started paying late and then they jacked it up to 29).

If you were at my house, it would mean my homephone is unplugged

I stopped paying my CC's in January and my phone's been unplugged ever since. I plan to retain a lawyer within the next 60 days and file around the 180 day mark, so I don't really think my unplugged phone has any effect on anything other than providing me with peace and quiet so I can get my daily dose of BKforum

If the creditors don't call 10 days in a row it means that got a lot of bailout money and they are still celebratring.
Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17
