Decided to answer my first collections call...

    #2
I just have to wonder, what's the purpose of answering the phone just to follow this script? You may as well not answer, or confirm enough info so they know they can reach you (and not call others looking for you) and then end the call without giving any financial info. Seems to me the caller is just going to get ticked off and take it out on the next person who answers, and that person may be trying to work something out and be in need of a little grace from the collector.

The purpose is to try and keep my sanity amongst all the craziness urrounding me.

Because you know - the worst n=bankruptcy in the world is he who has lost his enthusiasm.

Definitely keep your sanity - it just seems to me that it would be easier to do that if you either do not talk to the creditors, or keep it brief, to the point of what you want them to know, and unemotional. Maybe it's just me, but investing my energies in messing with someone like that on the phone would not preserve my sanity or my enthusiasm for life.

I agree with Trixie, trust me, as fun as it can be to mess with them, not hearing from them at all is the best.

Altho is was fun reading your call..I myself dont bother answering any of the calls. It would just make me feel aweful...And this guy is just doing this job and unless he was mean to you, it just make any sense to piss him off.
