Which address do I send DV to?

I received the first dunning letter from GC Services on 2/4/09. It is dated 1/22/09. I have a DV letter all ready to go and plan on sending it CMRRR on 2/17/09.

There are 3 addresses on the letter. The return address on the envelope which is a PO Box in Texas, A street address at the top of the letter, also in Texas, and another PO Box in San Diego which I am supposed to use to send the full payment to using the enclosed return envelope.

I would LOVE to use the enclosed return envelope

Here is what I've done in the past. There is usually an address on the "alleged" bill that you are supposed to detach and send in with a payment that you may or may not "owe." (Why send money to someone who has nnot provided verification?) I ignore the address related to where a payment should go. Sometimes there are two other addresses on the original dunning letter. NCO, Allied, Inter, etc are notorious for this. One is often a PO BOX and the other a street address with some Suite #, etc. I send return receipts to both addresses. This can get costly at ~$5.50 per letter, but peace of mind sometimes has a price. In addition, you can easily track all US return-receipt mail online with your receipt number. You can see if the mail was delivered. Print a copy for your records.

I hear a lot of stories about how CMRRR letters are avoided by CA's, but I have never had this happen. I have also never received debt verification related to major CC's that are owned by, or assigned to CA's. These include BoA, Citi, Cap1, etc. I did receive verification from local creditors for debts held by local financial institutions.

The nice thing is that my phone seldom rings anymore.

On the other hand, as I've stated on many posts, I seldom failed to answer a phone call or return a phone call. I have sent DV's to folks who eventually called me again. I simply reminded them that I have not received any verification of the debt. In general, they quickly checked their records and apologized for calling.

So, should you send the DV request to as many addresses as possible? Hey, leave no rock unturned.

            I would sent it to:

            GC Services Limited Partnership
            6330 Gulfton
            Houston, TX 77081

A physical address seems to get people's attention.

Ok. I'm going to send one to each address. I plan on using their return envelope they supplied to make a payment with a copy of their tear-off coupon, call me weird but when they sign for this one whoever opens it just may have a moment when the think it's a payday, then, awwwww, its a DV.

Gotta keep a sense of humor!
