I have known some people who have moved overseas. One of the main obstacles people have is how to get a job so as to have some money coming in. Another issue is finding an apartment to stay at. Another issue deals with visas. A lot of countries want people to come and visit but don't want them staying as residents unless they have a considerable amount of money. As you mentioned, you might be able to get a foreign passport but even if you can, that might take more time then what you might be willing to spend.
Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17
