If they cannot reach you they will oftentimes start trying to contact you at work and/or any number you used as a reference. So sometimes it is in your best interest to give them the new number/address so that they don't pester your boss, mother, grandmother, etc...May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer

Also, if you submitted a change of address form at the post office, they WILL have your new address very shortly. The info you submit on those change of address forms is sold by the Post Office to anyone who wants it, from private databases to junk mail solicitors. So if you filled one out for the rest of your mail, count on hearing from your creditors soon. Good luck!!!Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

I haven't submitted a change of address form w/ the post office, just don't wanna get in trouble because my "primary" address has changed. I also had the phone number disconnected. no problems so far, but I don't wanna start getting calls @ work. Some of these cards are so old, I doubt the companies have my correct employer!

Be careful about hiding yourself. They will somehow find you. They will call anyone with your last name, maiden name, mother's maiden name, etc. Do you really want your family bothered with this? Or worse yet, strangers. They may be able to get social security records and somehow find out where you are current working. And if your new phone number is listed, they will eventually be able to get it.
Why are you "hiding" from bill collectors? Why not just contact them and let them know what's going on?

Back in 1996 I disappeared. Didnt hear anything from my main creditors. Did hear from my local creditors such as dentist.
I used a post office box, but under, I believe the Patriot Act, that is out.
For identity, I used my passport.
For apartment, did a short term lease, paid up front in cash, so as to not to have to do a credit check. When lease expired, did a regular 6 month lease and kept renewing the lease.
I had a girlfriend who was illegal from Germany. She registered her car in the name of a non-existing business. I dont know if that loop hole has been closed or not.Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17

Honestly, I just don't want to be bothered with the phone calls 50 + times a day. The thought of it drives me crazy - I have no problem speaking to the CC company once or twice, but when I hear stories of them calling all day, the thought makes me wince. Once I call them and explain the situation, I know that they will be calling repeatedly all day long. I'm thinking of sending them all a letter explaining my current situation. Today I received an email from Ge Credit Services that was VERY friendly. Needless to say, I didn't respond. I'm sure they know I opened the email. Weird, huh? Oh, and my name is very common - almost similar to "John Doe"
