    Hi Big John,

I agree with everyone else...don't activate this "new" card. I think that it's a trick and this is the credit card companies way do "throwing a wrench in you bk filing", maybe they are going to claim fraud, etc. Be careful!

We also got 2 letters from collection agency regarding citi credit cards. They offered some really nice settlements. I checked the accounts and they were accounts I had with my first wife. We went our ways back in 1996. The Statutes of Limitations on those accounts have expired but somehow, somebody has brought them forth. I haven't seen these accounts for about 10-12 years. Who has been sitting on them, I have no idea.

I got this gut feeling that some collection agencies may have some interesting software.

          So Far ..

We haven't stopped paying minimums on CC's yet, we only stopped paying the mortgages on our OLD house as of June and got our first in-house collection letter from the 2nd mortgage today, phone calls from the 1st (Countrywide) have been sporadic since 20+ days late.

The other day Citibank reduced my limit to $38 above the balance (luckily I caught it and paid some down). They sent a letter stating their decision was based on information from Experian, "specifically, you have an account that is 30 days or more late with another creditor."

Lo and behold, today in the mail --I am approved for a Citibank gasoline Visa card .. at 19.99%. ? Sheesh. It's amazing to me that when you fall behind the offers for sh^&*y deals come rollin' in, as if your an idiot.
