Why do I keep receiving statements?

I got this from my Kohl's card a little while ago:

Why on Earth would Kohl's still be sending me statements? They obviously got my bk info because they've never called.

Major violation of the stay. They are not allowed to contact you in any way, shape or form. Report them!!!

I still got statements after I voluntarily surrendered a car. I think it a computer thing and takes a bit of time. I would not be too concerned unless harassed. 'Hub

Stilltheone, you filed in March. This is June. MAJOR violation of the stay. Definitely copy it for your atty. If you feel that it is deliberate, you can press to have them held in contempt of court for violating the automatic stay. If you think it's simply in error and not a flagrant, deliberate, knowing attempt to collect, a certified letter from either you or your atty should do the trick.

That was my first thought, too! It's June, for goodness sakes'!

They haven't called me once...I used to work in their credit dept, so I know how they operate. They aren't ones to not call if you're behind.

I'm thinking it's a computer error. If I get another one dated June 15th, I will have to call and raise some .

Our mortgage companies send us "informational statements"...on each one, it states that it is NOT an attempt to collect debt, but that basically if we don't pay, they can use their legal right to gain their collateral back. No worries, I will ALWAYS pay my mortgage!

Maybe they didn't get the notice? I have several medical companies still billing me claiming they didn't get notification of my BK. I am ignoring them for now but am about to notify my attny.

I'd talk to your lawyer, then forward the email to him.....he'll probably be interested....

They seem to like this kind of stuff. Its amazing that it takes 4 days for a return call regarding the BK but 30 minutes if it involves a 'naughty' collector.

Send them a copy of your creditor listing/matrix, and a pic of your hand flipping the bird. They'll get the hint.

Well, my Kohl's bill always cycled on the 15th of every month and I haven't gotten anything for June 15th...so I think it was just a computer error.

I'll have to make sure that it doesn't show up as past due on my credit report, when I get it. I was current with them when I filed!
