Letter after giving lawyer info

Not sure if this is right.

-stopped paying AMEX 6 months ago
-heard from AMEX, NCO & now Nationwide Credit Inc (NCI)
-paid retainer to lawyer about 4 weeks ago
-gave lawyer name & number to all creditors
-yesterday received this letter addressed to:
My Name
C/O MY Lawyer <--- Yes my lawyer name is on address
My Street Address
Las Vegas, NV xxxxx

RE: AMERICAN EXP TRAVEL.....
BAL:$49k

Your delay in resolving this account has left with just two options to avoid additional efforts to collect:
- Pay the full balance at once.
- If you can't pay in full now, call us to make acceptable arrangements. We've offered to work with you to seek terms that fit your individual situation....

- This matter is not going away by itself. Pay in full immediately of call us for help today at 1-800-267-9209


My questions:
- how long is the "I paid a retainer" good for?
- I thought the creditors stopped communications based on that?
- Does this mean lawsuit coming up?

I hope to get enough together at the start of July to pay lawyer and start with Chap 7 filing.

Until you actually file the creditors can still legally contact you. Many don't as it is a waste of their time, effort and money to pursue the issue if you really are going to file. But if they want to continue contacting you up until the day you file their really is very little you can do about it. Expecially if it is the original creditor.

This wasn't Amex, it was the second agency.

Guess I'll just add to my file for now..
