    Dealing With Phone Calls

I've been getting a lot of phone calls lately and just can't stand it!

I signed up for Youmail.com two days ago and WOW is all I can say.

I basically put my cell on call forwarding to this service and now my phone never rings. If someone leaves a message it will text my phone that they called with the voice mail in text format! You can also log in online and see all your calls and listen to your voice mails.

Better than that is the custom voice mail greetings you can give individual callers. All the creditors and banks now get a voice mail that makes my phone number seem disconnected. They never call again!

Just a little something I found very helpful.

Nice find. I just changed my number and make sure only very close people in my circle have it, and will change it again in a heartbeat if it falls in the wrong hands.

I like the youmail.com selection where it ask the person to deposit 25 cents in order to complete the call.

I wish I had known about that site. Its sounds rather entertaining! Is there a fee?

Its so funny but I am in this period of transition after filing. I keep checking my caller ID and it shows nothing. I got 0 phone calls yesterday. It's like they dont love me anymore

I haven't used this service but did check out the website.
This is what it says about fee: YouMail does not charge for its basic service, nor does it intend to. Our users can also avoid or minimize any charges from wireless carriers by having a nationwide calling plan and/or a text messaging plan.

I use it, love it, and it's free.

You can assign different messages to different callers, as well as you can just "ditch" any callers so they're not even able to leave you a message. Chase calls me about every 10 minutes all day long, but now they go directly into VM and are not able to leave a message.

BTW, if you have a Smartphone or a PocketPC phone, you can also install free "CallFirewall" (just search for it on google), which will allow you to "blacklist" phone numbers, so your phone will not even ring when collectors call, they will go automatically into YouMail voice mail, at which point they will be "ditched" (if you choose to).

Now I don't even know they're calling me unless I check my logs and see hundreds of calls

PS. Since they allow you to record your own messages, I recorded 3 minutes of the typical "on hold" music, and I use that for collectors. So when they call, they get the music playing for 3 minutes, saying "please hold". If they're patient enough to wait that long, at the end is says "we are experiencing higher than usual call volume, please call back later" and then it hangs up. Love it!

That is too funny, almost makes me wish I still had a cell phone.

              Thanks for sharing
