Creditors reporting false/incorrect AFTER BK, and trying to collect!

    Hi there -

I haven't been on this forum in awhile and am just getting myself back on. I've tried looking through some of the threads but I figured this would be easier for me.

My husband filed BK a few years ago, and the BK has now been discharged for a good year or so.

During our BK, several creditors will still reporting the debt as not being paid, showing late 30,60, 90, etc.

After our BK discharged, the continued to show this as well as now showed the debt as charged off, not incl. in BK.

We sent out a dozen or so certified letters, asking these creditors to correct their reportings, and if I remember correctly, we asked them to delete this debt from our reports, since they were not reporting correctly in the first place.

We STILL have several creditors that did NOTHING about the letters we sent them, and now we have several (well, 4 or 5) collectors that have sold these debts that were incl. in the BK, to collection agency's who are now sending us mail stating we need to pay these debts, etc.

My questions are ... 1) What do we do about those that are continuing to report false information, etc. during and after our BK? Especially those that were notified via certified mail by us.

    2) What do we do about the collection agency's that are coming after us foe these debts that were incl. in the BK?

Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it!

    SPAY/NEUTER your pets!!

One female cat and her kittens can theoretically produce 420,000 cats in a 7 year period!!! SPAY/NEUTER!!!!

Indoor cats live an average of 17 yrs, outdoor only 4 yrs - you do the math.

As to the first question-you need a credit repair site. Try www.creditboards.com

As to the second question-send the collectors a letter with the filing number and a copy of the discharge letter and tell them the debt was discharged in bk and to immediately cease any and all communication with you.
