Well, if anyone can find her using her ss#...good luck, she is a dead beat. they should publish all personal info in the local paper every week on these peoples...sorry, just personal feelings...any way, jeff, it you want you can edit your post and XXX out the social just in case. Oh, I didn't see her first name , maiden name and any aliases she may have gone by. You can email that to me or send private message if you don't want to publish that info. I'll keep it confidential and destroy it when done just to be safe. On your personal belongings. DONT WORRY. they won't look at anything or take anything. Remember, it is GARAGE sale value of these items only.

so, i looked and the 4000 is the wildcard. can be used for anything. I think one of the most important things is to clarify if the homestead exemption can be used for the mobile home. It does say "any real property" used as a primary residence, and that qualifies in my book. Ok, I'll email you about the info on your ex and hopefully we can find her for you. Not promising anything but the more info you know on her man the better.

I dont have any useful info to add but am hoping and praying you find this deadbeat mom. Thank god the children have you. Have you considered putting their names on an Angel Tree? Also, Try calling your Social Services office and asking about a list they may have. We have what is called "Christmas Mother" here. From what I understand the children will get clothes and a winter coat plus 3 presents for Christmas. I think you will also get a gift certificate to a grocery store to help with Chrismas dinner. I say I think because a friend of mine told me about this. I havent actually checked it out myself...yet.

Also check out the local food banks. You should do that now because they can put you in contact with other agencies who can help. No child should suffer because of financial crises. Is there a Walmart near where you live?

Hi. yeah, there is a walmart, but i think i should be able to spend a hundred bucks each on them. I had saved 75 dollars cash here at the house to put toward it, and I should be able to add 125 to it at the beginning of December, maybe even a little more Christmas will be fine for us. We'll put the tree up together and we always have a loving Christmas. I thought it would be tough cause i thought I would have to file BK7 right now, but I am judgement proof, and now my SSI checks will be coming to my mailbox instead of direct deposit. My paper checks will be here in January, and my court date isn't till Feb, so they won't have squat to freeze on me. Maybe next year I will start saving for chapter seven. Being judgement proof is a blessing because it gives me time, time to prepare and save cash for a chapter seven filing and an attorney. The beauty of this is, I can handle any judgments that come my way, and then I can CHOOSE the time i am ready to file BK7. Then, all the judgements will be wiped out anyway.

I just love you folks. What a great place for people in trouble to come and have good folks help ease their minds. I was so distraught yesterday when I didn't understand what I could do or any of my rights. After talking to you folks, then legal aid, i realize that I am in an almost powerful position here. they can't touch me but very little, I can file bk7 when I am ready, they can bring their judgments by the dozen if they want to, I can keep my home, vehicles, personal stuff, I have protected my SSI checks, I am prepared for them now, and I have you folks to thanks. I almost WANT them to bring it on, bring those judgements by the dozen, then next year, or the year after, at a time of my choosing, I will file BK7 and wipe it all out. heck, i could even deny the amount of debt and make them go to trial against me, couldn't I?

          Thanks

          Jeff

Glad to hear that things are looking better. I would still take the time to check out the local food banks (there may be several around you), as well as contact the Foodstamp place to inquire about Christmas baskets, etc. Any free food, etc., that you receive will mean more $$ to apply towards your kids' Christmas. I am only spending $50.00 per person, but am making gifts such as scarves, hats, mittens, and jewelry to round it all out.

Kind of like running into your own troops in the trench, when you are lost .....

I have told all family members they are not getting gifts and please do not buy me one. ..including my husband!!! They all seemed fine with it. I do not have children so I know if I did I would have to buy them something. But the adults and other people's children will have to wait until next year. Although, I have to say I feel a sense of "FREEDOM" from being a slave to the giftgiving...so it may just be my policy from now on. My grandmother stopped buying chritmsas presents and made it her "policy" to buy birthday gifts only, that way she spreads her expenses out throughout the year. She is also able to cook a nice small meal for EACH child/grandchild/greatgranchild instead of having to break her back for a huge meal for all. Works out great!
