I just read in the local paper about the ABLE accounts for disabled. My child is an adult, disabled well before 22 and has accrued substantial credit card debt, two accounts which turned into judgements. I wanted to know, if, if my son were to open an ABLE account, would that account be secure from garnishment or attachment (don't know what it is called). He is collections proof as all of his income is disability, so there is no need, nor the money to file a Chapter 7. He is just at the federal government poverty level.
