You can get Transcripts of taxes filed from the IRS.

Here's a link to another thread where this was discussed with a link to the IRS for you:

    Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
    Discharged - 12/2006
Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007
    Closed - 04/2007

I am sitting here trying to channel your attorney's thoughts into my own head so I can tell you what he needs. It isn't working. Maybe you should ask him ?? Seriously, you can get copies from the IRS....might take a couple of months though, you know how fast they work........

We do help each other, but we also have NO IDEA what forms your attorney needs. I suggested you call him and ask. I thought that was pretty good advice. Knowing WHERE to get the forms is useless at this point. Why? Because you have no idea what forms to order. And you won't until you talk to your attorney on Monday....At which point you might have asked him "where can I get a copy of my 1099?" and he would say " Contact the IRS"....

But hey, I'm not paying for the bandwith so ask away.......

You don't need the exact copy of the papers you filed. Instead, you can call the IRS and request a tax TRANSCRIPT--they can fax it to you almost immediately without any cost to you. An actual copy of your tax return costs about $30, but is not necessary.

I am a little worried now. I sent the trustee the copies we were given from Jackson Hewitt. When I called the trustee's office to ask if they needed anything else they said no. Now I am worried they are going to need something from the IRS as well. Why would'nt they be able to just accept the copies from Jackson Hewitt, doesnt it have the same info on it?

It varies from Court to Court what they want to see, CVA.

We submitted our printouts from filing using TurboTax online, along with our 1099's and our attny was fine with that.

If you haven't heard anything about submitting copies from Jackson Hewitt, you probably have nothing to worry about. If the Trustee wants more, they'll tell you. And it takes no time to get an "official" transcript from the IRS.

Our lawyer wanted our tax returns before we could file, saucey. If you are filing in an emergency (to save your house from foreclosure, for example), you or your lawyer could file a "bare bones" case and then have 15 days to file any missing documents. However, if it isn't an emergency, you should wait the 10-14 days to get your tax documents, and then file.
