    Poll on DIY filing

I am finishing up my paperwork, I will be filing "PRO SE".

I researched and found the forms needed to file.

Didn't trust some of the file yourself outfits, an awful lot of boasting on their websites (but too many bad reviews here).

Considered using Form7 (reasonable price) but since the author passed away (10/05), no updates are forthcoming and you can't even purchase anymore (their link to order fails).

Ez-File seems good, but at $399 a bit too much, unless you have a complex filing, then you should get an attorney.

I have a 40 year computer background. I feel that an online package could be developed to allow one to fill data into a database and produce the documents needed (initially for Chapter 7, as this is what I have come to be familiar with).

I need a job anyway, the questions are:
Is there a market for this package?
What is a fair/equitable price someone will pay?

Fill in the poll below, Thanks

Thats great! I would not however recommend it for those who may be less studious, and especially without reading up intensely on how to do it before possibly making even the slighest mistake.

          Re: Poll on DIY filing

I did all of my paperwork for $0. I researched the Ch 7 for about 5 months before filing. I considered those kits, but they were very pricey and places like we the people wanted $400 to do the paperwork with all the info that you have to organize and supply anyway. And forget about a lawyer so I went the pro-se route because my case wasn't complicated because I only have what is covered by exemptions anyway. If I had to put a price tag on my bk,it would be $299 filing fee, the cost of a black ink cartridge ($15) to print forms of the internet, a typewriter ribbon ($7) to type on the forms and the cost to make 3 sets of copies at staples (150 x 7cents) and a couple of trips by train to the bk court to file ($8). I saved a bundle and used what I saved on what really mattered - rent, food, etc.

          Hooters MC: $1700
          First Premier Platinum MC: $450
Orchard Bank MC: $300 Juniper Visa :$600
          Target Card: $200 Capital One:$1500

After doing over 6 months of research I went with Form7. It was what I was looking for because of it's simple and user friendly format. I loved the checklist and the step-by-step process. It saved me alot of time, I tried finding and downloading the forms from my state websites, but they were incomplete and often not in PDF format so it was impossible to type in the fields. I paid $30 and probably would have gone as high as $65.

I got complimented by the clerks and the trustee of how neat and thorough my forms were.
