    Bill Me Later

    Hi
We are filing chapter 7 early next week. I wanted to see if anyone had a Bill Me Later account that was discharged. We have a balance of About $2000. We purchased some household items about 6 months ago (rugs and furniture) and a computer and paid with bill me later. We didn't know at the time that our situation will change and that we will have to go the route of bankruptcy. My questions are can we keep the items? Can a deal be worked out for us to repay only this debt? Or will we have to surrender the items we purchased?
The payments are starting now (it was 6 months no payment no interest).
    Thank you

Bill Me Later is not a secured credit line, unless the terms were different six months ago than they are now:
    7. Security Interest

We will not take any security interest to secure this Account.

Assuming you can exempt the items you purchased, you can keep them and the debt will be treated like any other unsecured debt.

$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!
