Could a one time bonus hurt the chances of a chapter 7? It was about three months ago and was significant. Some was used for Christmas (not much), car and life ins and paying towards debt. I would hate for a one time bonus puch us into a 13.

Afraid? Simple solution. Hold off filing bk until the month in which you received the bonus is beyond the 6 month means test widow. Now all you have to deal with is your real time budget, Schedule I and J.
