Okay here goes we received our discharge on 1/6/14. Now we are about ti file our taxes. Our state has an exemption for tax refunds of up to 5,000. My wife and I file separately. She will receive a refund of about 4900. I on the other hand have a tax bill so when I file my taxes they will keep any refund that I am due. My question is will the trustee view this as more than a 5000 return and keep my wife's refund.
