Is Georgia a slow to close state? I filed Chapter 7 no asset on 8/21. My 341 was on or around9/23 . The trustee determined there was no distribution of funds and that my case was not subject to dismissal. My expected discharge was 12/2 but my attorney says I still have a couple of months until the bankruptcy discharges and closes. I don't understand how that could be.

It should have been discharged after 11/23/2013. The closing is administrative and that could be the same day or weeks alter. Do not worry about the closing. (Actually the closing helps you since most banks will not do anything with a foreclosure while the case is active and open.) The discharge is the thing that debtors wait for!
