    Credit Report after Discharge

My husband and I received the Order that our Chapter 7 bankrutpcy was discharged 9/18/13. I checked my creidt report two days later and and three accounts are listed as Derogatory on my credit report. Two are from Discover and one is from Chase. I contacted Discover and they said that will stay on there because of the bankruptcy and I am not sure about Chase because I have not contacted them.

Is it normal to have the condition on the credit report as Derogatory. On one of the two discover it states bankruptcy on there.

    Thanks for any help.

The account should be listed as "Included In Bankruptcy" (IIB), Discharged in a Bankruptcy Chapter 7, 11, 13, and should have a $0.00 balance. Any history prior to you filing bankruptcy, so long as it is accurate, will remain on your file for 7 years (from filing the bankruptcy or when that account went derogatory, whichever comes first). The fact that an account is listed as IIB will usually make it show as derogatory.

If the accounts are not shown as IIB, you can dispute with your credit bureaus to have it updated. Again, please remember that any payment history prior to filing, that is accurate, can stay! Some creditors have removed the entire tradeline when disputed, but it is unlikely a creditor like Discover to do so.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
