I understand your reticence about getting another credit card. I'm not 100% sure that a secured credit card is the preferred way to go, though. It's not a bad way, but if you have $1000 you can use to secure a credit card, why not place the $1000 in a seperate account that you don't touch ever? You can "secure" it yourself. This assumes a creditor is willing to give a non-secured credit card, of course.
Chapter 7, above median, no asset. Discharged with no UST involvement.

I don't know if I can get a secured card, I do not have $1000 to put into an account currently, I am living paycheck to paycheck currently due to a major salary hit and a job loss that I am still recovering from. The credit card would be for work related travel expenses only, and much of that I would use my debit card on, car rental is the only issue that requires a debit also travel to foreign countries.

Thanks again for everyone's support --- this forum has been such a help to me.
Chapter 7 filed: 5/12/13 (over median - no asset) | 341 Hearing: 6/12/13 (Bass & Associates appeared for Best Buy) | Report of No Distribution: 6/12/13 | Discharged 8/18/13 | Case Closed: 8/18/13

And interesting on the new credit card comments - I really don't know if I can trust myself with another credit card. I have proven to myself 3x in this lifetime I am not too good with credit (overspending, hence how I got myself 120K in cc debit). I have since saved 4K since filing and I plan on using that only for emergencies.
