    Awaiting Discharge! Also, abandoned property?

So, I went to my 341 meeting and I think my baby was a good luck charm. I had $1500 from a tax return with only $700 non-exempt, but he told me to keep it instead, because he thought my son was cute. (Of course it probably wasn't worth his time to spread it around to the mountain of debt!)

Also, he asked me if I had paid for advice to which I replied that I had received advice, but had not paid for any. He later asked if I was going to reaffirm my secured debts and I stated that I would not even though I would continue paying. He said that I must received some very good advice and really, I owe it all to you guys!

    Now I am awaiting discharge!

I did get a letter in the mail about 'abandoned property' for my secured debts and what I read on it seems rather benign -- I don't need to take any further action on that do I?

Again - thanks to everyone who was so helpful here! You people are magnificent!

If you would share with us the "rather benign" language in the letter, we can better advise you.

Is this a letter from the BK court stating that some of your secured assets, such as a vehicle, the trustee was formally abandoning interest in? If so, that is a very good thing. We had a 2004 VW Jetta wagon TDI, that we still owed some money on, about ten more months of payments, plus two older cars that were basically worthless and a Life Estate on a piece of property that we had sold the state of Florida well before we filed. Our trustee formally 'Abandoned Interest' in these items, as being "either, fully encumbered, exempt, or without marketable value."

Yes - it is worded as you mention above.

Then that is good. Congratulations--one less worry for you.
