Did I screw up? I have not used CC. but had friend buy cc airfare to help sick loved

Did I screw up? I have not used CC for over 7 months. I have been very careful to not let anything but regular expenses
    go through my one account.

Loved one got sick. Was not thinking, begged a friend buy an $250 airline ticket for me with their cc to go take care of a very sick loved one.

I am out of state taking care of them now.

However if i file for BK in the next few months, how do i show how i got here, what do i do about the ticket? did i screw up?

There is so much to learn. it is nerve racking.

My friend has made it very clear, they do not want to be brought into my "Financial cluster*&^( Mess" as he calls it! ; )

thanks for your experience, tips, and hope.

They are not going to care how you got there. My bigger concern, and I would defer this one to one of our forum BK experts, is that I believe there are certain residency requirements to file bankruptcy. For example, in PA they ask if you have been a resident of the State for the last (3) years. Not sure if this a legal requirement but they ask the question nonetheless.

Pay your friend back. You have a very reasonable explanation, if it were ever questioned. $250 a few months from now probably won't matter.

        thanks for the replys. appreciated.

        1) I am a resident. I am just out of state now caring for a loved one.

        2) how do i pay them back when they dont want to be brought into it? I cant use a check. I could use cash but then they have to sign a receipt. am i worrying over nothing? I feel like they will go over every expense in my bank statements, see i was in another state and say how did you get there where is the reciept for the ticket? I feel like i am making mistakes but i dont know how to do it right.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. Pay the guy back here and there when you get some extra money. No one is following you around tracking where you have traveled to and when you were there. In fact, I wouldn't even mention it at all. I know sometimes it seems like people are watching our every move but they really are not. You don't have to have a receipt for every little thing you've bought or spent money on. Just the big things.

            Thanks! I appreciate the reply.

In my head, they are going over every expense i made in the last year on my bank statements, then they see all these expenses for household expeses for groceries etc in another state, and they ask me how the hell i got there. and I have to tell them i had my friend by me a ticket on his cc, and then he is mad at me for getting him in this, and the bk guys are mad and i screweed up.

thats what its like in my head ; ) i need a reality check.

              You're way over thinking this.
Nothing in the bk code precludes you from accepting a small gift. No need to even mention it. Just repay your friend when the bk is discharged.

You could have bought the ticket with your debit card, disclosed your purchase to your attorney and IF you had been asked by the trustee, told the trustee why you bought the ticket. I don't think the trustee would have asked, though.

Take $$ out of your account and repay your friend - it's under the amount where you would have to disclose it on your BK petition and you won't have to worry about owing him anymore. Why would he have to sign a receipt? For whose benefit is the receipt?

As I have said to you before, you are making this way harder on yourself by stressing incessantly over every little detail and soon you will be sick from stress.

I hope things go as smoothly as possible with your loved one.
