Is report of no distribution same as closed?

    Hi,

We just received "report of no distribution no assets". Are we now closed? The date was 2/18, we were discharged in October. Yay!

    Hope everyone is doing well.

Actually it is one more step in the process. If there isn't language in your present report of no distribution, stating that the trustee has finished all his work and diligently searched for assets, and finding none, requests to be released from this case, you will be getting one stating this shortly. Then you will be officially Closed. Congratulations!

usually the report of no distribution in a form of an actual court order, and in most cases looks something like this:

ORDER APPROVING TRUSTEES REPORT OF NO DISTRIBUTION:

it appearing to the Court that "the name of your trustee" in the above titled case has filed a final report of no distribution and that said trustee has perform all required duties in the administration of this estate.

          accordingly it is:

          ORDERED!

          1. the report of the trustee is hereby approved and the estate is CLOSED
          2. the trustee is disharged and relieved of his/her duties
          3. all deficient pleadings that have not been cured are considered moot

          DONE AND SO ORDERED:
