    Tax Deed Sale Question

We were discharged from BK7 in Jan 2011. One debt that was discharged was a loan from WF on a lot in a gated community in FL. Of course we have paid no taxes on the lot since tax year 2008. I just got a letter from the office of the Tax Collector in Polk County stating that a tax certificate was sold on my lot which can result in a public auction of the property if the tax certificate holder applies for a tax deed. My question is "Do I care?" I think it is a good thing since hopefully it will get the deed out of my name. Is there anything I should know since I've never been involved with a tax sale before. Thanks

If you have equity in the property when it goes to tax deed sale, you would be entitled to the proceeds once all the taxes are paid through the sale. But i am assuming you are with the rest of us when it comes to equity in RE in fla.

Thanks everybody, would like to get that property out of my name but it looks like the certificate holder can't move on getting title until after a 2 year waiting period. But that's better than nothing. With FL all you do is wait
