    specific law providing each exemption

How do I get list of "specific law providing each exemption" for schedule C? I live in New Hampshire but I would also like a listing of federal exemptions.

    Hi and welcome!

I know there is info here somewhere on the forum, but I still am not sure where to find it. One of the pros will point it out I am sure.
Meanwhile, you can google for exemptions. Here's one site:http://www.thebankruptcysite.org/exe...s/federal.html

Does this mean you are filing by yourself? or do you have an attorney?

      Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I am filling on my own.
In particular I'm looking for the exemption law for "cash on hand" and "checking/savings account".

Unfortunately we can't give specific "statutes" on how to exempt it... only point you in the right direction. You may need to actually read the NH State Laws to see if you can exempt cash or if there is a limit as to how much cash you can exempt. If it's a significant amount of cash you may want to seek out an attorney.

From what little I see, there are no restrictions on cash. (For example, I believe Arizona limits cash on hand to $150.)

Your state would have its specific info posted online. Here is a link to the basics of federal exemptions. Use Google to search for the specific law references.

Good idea btheme. Yes, you can choose EITHER the State Exemptions (NH) or the Federal Exemptions. You must determine which one works better for you and the property that you are trying to protect/exempt.

My link gave both Federal and NH exemptions.
NH has some pretty nice exemptions- WAY better than NJ. Not only can you exempt 200K real estate (if married), but also 6 sheep, a hog and a cow.
