Thanks, everybody. PJMax, I just looked on eBay and think I could probably find a decent replacement if need be. BCohen, I agree with you. I'm done negotiating. I don't want to start my new beginning with over $1k extra in debt. So we'll see what happens!

At the end the trustees said you're dismissed 90 days. I don't even know what that means.

I assume you misunderstood. Likely what tye trustee said is, you'll be discharged in 90 days-meaning, you bk is final.

Just do not reaffirm. Period. Do not negotiate. Period. They can say, threaten, bloviate, etc all they want. But if they want to come get the stuff, they have to do so legally. Doing so legally is a pain in their butt. That means a obtaining a Writ or Replevin. Until they show up at your doorstep with one, I would consider it all nothing but background noise. Believe me, they will try and say ANYTHING to try to get you to cave.

My animation stems from the fact that BK is a worrisome process by itself. There is no need to make it more so by dealing with the likes of Bass and Asses. I hope that you are able to get through this with nothing more - that they do what they do in 99% of cases and just let it go. But, since they actually had several responses to their siren song, I am fearful that they smell blood in the water and might just pursue it, feeling that you would cave to a settlement.

Don't open that door any further for them. They are like feral cats - one hint of food and they will never leave your porch. And I almost hate using that example, as I love cats.

They don't want it. Thats the point that this forum is trying to make. They want cash. The only way they can get the "stuff" is a legal Writ of Replevin, which is a pain in their butt to obtain. But, by even hinting at a settlement, they think they have you on the hook and will hound you incessantly, likely even after your discharge.

Which nobody wants, or deserves. That is what we want to help you avoid.

Aw c'mon Btbeme... tell us how you really feel
            Well spoken btw.
I especially like "bloviate" (to discourse at length in a pompous or boastful manner).... can't wait to use it on my cocky teen who lawyers me to death
Syd, glad we showed you the light.... KEEP US POSTED
