    Re Chapter 128...

Since yours is the ONLY state with another option, I'd at least read up on it, especially if you are going to be in a high repayment situation.
It may or may not be a good idea for you. We never get anyone here who's been in one... wish we would.

Many people here do wind up buying new cars in your situation. OR more life insurance, health insurance, whatever... keep reading.

I COMPLETELY agree. I hate suggesting to people that they should incur more debt when they are already bankrupt. That said, with dmi of $741 and many of the listed expenses on J questionable, realistically, they are looking at dmi of over $1000/mo. It just may take something drastic, like a new car purchase to avoid a ch.13. And, further, if they are going to end up in a ch.13, then having a new car is a must anyway. But, I agree with you, it IS last resort advice, for sure.

Please say that DH's DUI of $200.00 is a one-time payment and not a monthly event for x number of months..... [although I think I already know the answer...]

A first time offense in Texas is, at minimum, $4,000 (fine, attorney, bail, DWI education, towing, license reinstatement, probation, retrofitting ignition switch for breathalyzer). All offenses can range up to $24,000 without an accident. One of my former co-workers got one and was making payments upwards of $350 a month for a first time offense.

Thank you all for the input, I am getting very frustrated with this. It sure does not feel like I have alot of money and I just want it to be over.
