    Offered HARP refi from Quicken...

We got a letter in the mail from our servicer, Green Tree Servicing saying we should contact Quicken to learn about a special program they are offering GT customers to get refinanced under HARP. First QL said no because we did not reaffirm our mtg. Then they called again and said that was wrong and that didn't matter. So we are in the process of underwriting. The mtg would be for 3.99% which would be a big savings from our current rate of 6.75%.

Really surprised by this offer, did anyone else get this? I won't believe we are getting it till new mtg funds but it's good news so far.

I would like to hear how this works out for you. I was told I could not refinance under HARP because I didn't reaffirm my mortgage. Keep us posted!! Good luck!!

I will let you know! This is some special thing QL has with Green Tree so maybe this is different. We'll see.

i'm so happy to hear this about green tree! i have a few neighbors here been trying to work with them and they will not budge with a refi. so i'm going pass the word on and hopefully this may help more people. i'm so worried about the couple living next to us they have been trying to work with green tree and they have just been down right nasty.

They ARE evil! They must be making a lot of money by doing this because you know they are not doing it for any other reason. Your neighbors should be getting or have gotten a letter in the mail. They will need to call the number on the letter though because anyone else you call at QL won't know anything about it. I'm still not holding my breath, nothing ever goes my way.

oh faust! don't say that. this can work!!! i think we are going to begin to see small movements like this in the lending systems because everything and everyone is simply and basically in CHECK MATE. something's got to give. i really hope it works for you i really do. i'm going to go over when then get home since i have been working with them for about 6 months now and this has been the biggest of hurdles with this green tree company, that's all i can say. i tried and tried...for about 5 minutes there, they were actually, we thought working with us, we did get loan mod paperwork from them...but then they dropped it like a turkey still in hot oil. (i can say that now that live in the south LOL!)

i will have my fingers and toes crossed for you along with a few prays...good receipts usually workout for the best.

Well I wish you all the luck in the world!

I can't find reference to this offer anywhere else. I almost wonder if they are just trying to get rid of me since I called and screamed at them about three months ago for calling me about when I was going to make my payment. They thought I had reaffirmed but I didn't.

oh no! we live in florida now, that house is in nj...just underwater LOL! no hurricane, just the town and county coming in and changing the curb in the road and the nature water flow right into our house ( and i MEAN IN) of over 30 years. it actually had a stream running through the foundation during the spring months and septic and leech fields would be drowning and overflowing it was great...it was really fun living there with about 10 sub pumps going 24/7.

it was actually a true blessing for us to loss our jobs ( not getting ill, which was also a big part of our bk). the biggest blessing was letting that house go that's all i can say.

we just purchased this house in florida it's going to be 2 years in feb and it's not underwater thankfully. (either way).

Just got a message that I need to pay our taxes up to date and we should be good. I said I want to know that for sure because right now I pay no interest on that balance and if I pay it I will need to borrower the $$. Not going to pay just to hear "oops sorry, not going to close".

From what I understand most HARP and HAMP loans require an escrow for taxes and insurance. I had to allow the bank to do that in order to close my HAMP loan, even though we were current on both.
