Garnishment refund?

We were garnished by a medical center for medical bills before we filed at the end of July, and today DH received ALL of the garnished funds back, in the form of several checks.

We have already had our 341 (and report of No Distribution was filed) and most of the money was garnished after we filed. We did include it on our petition and I exempted it.

Can we keep that money? We sure can use it lol. Or should we contact the trustee?

If you exempted the funds and the trustee filed a report of no distribution, you can probably keep the cash.

This is what we did. We exempted it and when the checks came in we were able to keep them.

I still don't think I'd call the trustee if I were confident that I exempted the asset and the deadline to object to exemptions has passed.
