Is this a problem? Supported son in college during 2010,2011 and part 2012

More drama. If I file Chapter 7, can this be a problem. I provided financial support to my son for 2.5 while he was going to college. Could a bankrupt trustee go after my son for repayment??? He was 19 at the time. He is now 22.

    Generally no.

Gifts and support to a dependent (even if an adult) are not recoverable.

Now, in the extreme, if the amount transferred was truly excessive and would rise to the level of fraud, then perhaps. If you were giving your son $100,000 per year with the intent not to pay your creditors, then maybe. But if you provided routine support, not a problem.

Why do you even think so or are you just being paranoid
