    Question on car value

From what I've read, when figuring the value of a car, it's the retail value (KBB, NADA) that is used. I have seen a few posts that mention trade-in value. I think I'm covered with either, and I have printed out info for both, as well as the private sale values. I would appreciate some insight on this, and thanks again for all the help I've received here.

We took an average of trade-in and private sale prices from KBB, Carmax, and another agency--don't remember the name--and used that. There were no questions about it.

Thanks AngelinaCat. I'm sure my lawyer will tell me which he will use, but I'm getting all my stuff in order for my Tuesday meeting, so I'll take all scenarios.

From what I have read on this forum, what value is accepted is district dependent. Here in central CA we used only Carmax. Your attorney should know what is acceptable in your district.
        Lawyer - $3000
        Filing fee - $299
        Fresh Start - Priceless

Sadly we have no Carmax in NJ
But one attorney here in NJ did tell me you could stack exemptions.
Are you going to be close on exemptions?
Keep us posted, I'm curious to know how it goes.
