Question for filing fee payments

And from your experience, did your attorney file the case prior to attorney fees being paid in full?

My attorney filed my case after my first payment of $200 and is letting me pay the rest of the fee monthly (one payment a month over the next few months). I think in some states, you have to pay the full attorney fee before you can file, but I don't know if that's the law in PA.
