I have a right 2 items of unclaimed property held by the state treasury. I am guessing that it is probably a couple of hundred dollars of excess payments to nursing homes paid on behalf of my deceased parents.
I have never bothered claiming, for whatever reason. When I file, I know that I will have to make the trustee aware of it.
Does anyone know how long it typically takes to claim unclaimed property? I really don't want to put the BK off too much longer, as I feel my resolve slipping already, but would feel like an absolute idiot, if it turned out to be $20,000 instead of a couple hundred bucks.
