Mortgage Company is filing Chaper 11...What does this mean for me?

My mortgage company has sent notice they are filing Chapter 11. Does anyone know what that means for the home owner? We had Chapter 7 discharged over a year ago and are staying and paying. Any input is appreciated!!

Likely nothing. There exists a chance that the Ch 11 judge will require or allow the sale of some or all of the mortgage company's portfolio, but that would be transparent to you. Your payment might someday get sent to someone else, but that would be the extent of your involvement.

So far, means nothing (I assuming you are referring to the chapter 11 of the holding company for GMAC mortgage). Just keep sending your payment as you normally would.
