    Maybe this is it....

I believe it's been almost five years I've tried and or attempted to file but had to wait for one reason or another...I think things have just aligned in the universe so that I can actually finally file maybe? blah

I have a couple of unsure questions I tried to find some previous post but I am almost positive I'm using the wrong words to search with ..

I now own my car free and clear for about 3yrs now. Previously I was paying on the car but didn't own it per say until it was paid and it caused complications so I waited.

I became sick last year and have accumulated almost 15,000 in doctor bills which is what is really pushing me to file already I thought I could fix it prior to that I don't think so now.

Due to being sick so often I have not been able to keep a steady job I am currently getting UE about 190 a week. How does this affect anything if at all?

I have an attorney in regards to a auto accident case that will be settled in a few weeks I believe around 8000 will be the final amount. Which is where I would obtain the monies to pay him for the bankruptcy. We couldn't go into detail just then on the phone but I'm curious how much can you have in your bank that they are not allowed to seize or force surrender? His fee is about 1900...it used to be 1200 WOW it's gone up a lot over the years!!

The most import question is that we (me/girlfriend) were staying at a previous location and had to move we were afraid for our lives due to improper maintenance on apartment and harassment we owed one month rent and didn't give notice because the guy was harassing us he is trying to sue us and wants like triple what we technically owe. We will be filing a counter suit in hopes he drops charges or reduces them but in the event he doesn't the lease is in both my name and gf's would I be able to file it in bankruptcy?

    =)

Each state has it's on exmptions for cash on hand and the equity in an auto. Your lawyer can answer those questions.
Should you file a lawsuit against the LL and then file bk it'll become property of the bk estate.
If you file bk, the lease will be discharged and you'll have no liability but, it won't affect his ability to sue your girlfriend.
Bk will have no affect on your ability to receive UE.

Thanks I thought it would be eligible but it wouldn't exclude her which in the end .. I still contribute to paying bummer!

I'm trying to find the limits online I am in a different state we moved about two and a half yrs ago so it's a bit different here.

I forgot to mention in the previous post I was able to consolidate my school loans but now they will total almost 120,000 after interest and final payment which sucks!!! I asked him about them and he said there was no way he could do anything about those. =(
