I know I need to wait 6 months to file.

How can I prove I live there or do I just say so on a form.

You don't need to wait the entire 6 months (180 days). It's the greater of the time period, so 91 days "domiciled" in Florida would work. To establishing domicile, just rent a property, pay utilities and change your license to Florida. The license would pretty much be evidence that you intend to stay (domicile yourself).

Well I went to lawyer in NY and laid it all out and he agreed it was straight forward no asset case not reaffirming anything.

But here they want $3500 +

He also said it would take longer than that.

So if we started here it could hold us up from moving.
