26 days past 341 meeting, florida, 540 credit score and 0 balances on every account!

    Hello BKforum!

I wanted to peek at my credit and signed up for a monitoring service (equifax for 16$ a month) and was amazed to find all my credit lines showing as discharged or 0 balance.

Discover threatened me with an AP unless I paid them the balance of 1700 on a card that I used to pay for living expenses while trying to pay other cards and did use it (something like 100$) 80 days before I filed.

Now if the card shows 0 balance (which it does) is this a good sign they aren't going to file an AP? My laywer says they won't because it'll cost them over a grand to come after my 1700 and he says that discover sends threats to everyone.

Does anyone have any advice to share?

Nope; it's the 341 meeting. And yes, I agree with your attorney. It is doubtful that Discover will go after you for such a small amount of money. Do tell me that you have kept your receipts, just in case...

ETA: We went into our BK with a couple of credit cards--both owned by CitiBank, as it turned out. The credit reports that we pulled just after filing showed a 'charge-off' status for both.

Now, what was interesting was that about a week or so after we filed, 'Hub went and made a purchase at RadioShack and created an in-store credit account, though he intended to pay the debt in full, when he got his ss check later in the month. When he went to pay this off, there was absolutely no record of the account at all. The clerk, and later, manager could not find any trace of this store charge, even though he had the receipt with him.

The only thing we can guess is that the bank that owned our other cards also owned the RadioShack store card, and wrote that off when they wrote off the other accounts.

When we told our attorney this, she said she hadn't heard of it either.
