Just finished with my 341. It went so smooth and my attorney was really awesome. He told me before the meeting that we had gotten a "nit-picky" trustee. "Answer all questions honestly with short yes or no answers unless more info is needed...then be as brief as possible answering only what is asked."

It was good advice, but really unneeded as the trustee asked just the basic questions and told my attorney that all he still needed was my current taxes. When my attorney told him I usually don't file until October (using the extension)...the trustee said that was fine, no problem, he didn't need it. Over and done!!! Whew!!

So now I just wait.

On a side note, when I got there, I was sitting with my attorney just waiting for our turn and I asked him what he liked best about his job. (He does other lawyer work also..wills, divorces...etc.) And he said that he likes the BK's the best because they really help improve peoples lives. He loves giving them a fresh start. I lucked out and chose an awesome attny. Total cost for this including all of the court costs was $1,300.00.

Best $1,300 I ever spent!!

Thank you all for the "Gratz." There is just no way to describe how I am feeling. I'm just a few years from retirement and I feel like I have just been given my life back.

I am completely debt free except for a small mortgage (payment is only $165.) I can actually look forward to retirement now. A year ago I was anxious and depressed, thinking that I was never going to be able to quit working until I died (which probably would have been at work.) LOL

What a huge relief!!!

Congrats to you!! That's the exact same reason I filed. I would never have been able to pay off all of my debt within the next 6 to 10 yrs. It will be wonderful to be debt free when the time comes to retire.

Congratulations! As everyone else has said, very happy for you! You are right about a good attorney, too! They matter! I felt very lucky to go with one I was happy with after reading multiple horror stories here. Now it's just a waiting game!
