Haven't posted in a few months, got our discharge in early February. We were able to exempt some cash because we were able to use Federal exemptions. With the cash we have saved since, and our rental income from our foreclosure properties in Ohio, we took $20,000 and bought a foreclosed mobile home! Granted, it ain't purty, but roof, walls and floors are sound. It is 1150 square feet, on a half acre of land, in a country setting, near a large recreational lake here. It needs carpet, paint, new fixtures, lots of TLC. But if I had bought a place that didn't need those things, I would probably have changed them anyway, lol. We will save the $1300 we were paying on rent, plus we are getting $2200 in rent until the rental properties are foreclosed on.
So goodbye to the almost $450,000 in mortgages on our home and rentals in OH, and hello to no house payment! I have had the nice home with it's nice mortgage, and I am so done with that! I will take my little place in the country and quietly enjoy life with no stress. Now I can focus on becoming a Prepper for the coming Zombie Apocalypse, lol. Thanks so much to all on this board who have helped me on my journey, and hope everyone finds the happiness we have found after BK7!!!
