Proof of Filing

My BK will be filed on Feb. 21st or 22nd by my attorney. How do I get proof that it has been filed. I need the info to put in my summons answer and also give to the Muny Court that the summons came from. Can I just get my Case # from Pacer and include that info, or is there a a form I need from the BK court?

You should get a copy of your final papers that were filed with the court in the mail with your case number on it. It might show up on Pacer before you get them in the mail.

Here in VA, my attorney filed mine electronically, so after I met with her, she provided me with an electronic copy.

all you need is the docket number...that's it. that's all they need. you don't need to get via pacer either, your atty's office will have it the day they file your petition. (we never had pacer nor used it, too nerve racking for me )

most all atty's now file electronically, and when you sign the petition one usually gets the copy via email MAKE SURE YOU GET A SIGNED COPY FOR YOUR RECORDS...however, for anyone who is a creditor then need copies of nothing at this point other than the docket number which they can verify themselves.
